
The Tulare County Organization for Vocational Education (TCOVE)
is a Joint Powers Regional Occupation Program (ROP) that operates
in all eleven high schools and unified school districts
within Tulare County. The organization of TCOVE ROP was formalized
by the creation of a Joint Powers Agreement (JPA) and has operated
as one of 73 ROP’s statewide sense inception
in 1969.
Specifically, the TCOVE ROP, through high school district
based classroom and community classroom training internships
provide high school junior and senior students entry level
job skills and technical preparation for both a post high
school education and direct workforce entry. In addition the
TCOVE ROP serves the adult community by providing technical
training and the upgrading of job skills to keep pace with
ever changing technology and workforce demands.
Upon successful completion of an ROP course, students receive
a Certificate of Completion indicating occupational and career
skills competencies.
TCOVE ROP enrollment for the school year 2002-03 was 4,059
high school students and 41 adults in over 180
sections of career and technical preparation courses
of study.
